I didn’t make it to class on Wednesday so I didn’t get to do html in class, but I googled how to do an html and followed the steps they showed me. I think making it is simple if you just follow the steps but actually creating more is something else. I would have to read about adding more lines for more words. Even with steps showing me how to do the html I still struggled with making this very simple html. It would show just the wording because there was things that I didn’t uncheck and I wouldn’t know what was wrong with my html. This shows me how much I don’t know about the process websites go through. My html is so simple and it still was hard for me to complete. Since I wasn’t in class I believe I might have gotten an easier html to make and even so I still struggled. It’s funny how creating a html page was complicated to me but technology has moved away from it to make way more complicated webpages. It felt awesome to see the words come out finally after I fixed the problems I had before, but my level is way to low for me to create anything else for now. Learning this thought me how I really don’t know about webpages even though I use them every day. I go on Facebook, Instagram, Google and many other ones and I for sure wouldn’t even know how they put the text.

The last couple of classes we talked about companies and how they competed with each other with the web coming out. It was really interesting to hear that the ones who made it after the dot.com bomb were the ones that made it and now are some of the most powerful companies that we have, like Amazon and Apple. Group Project

For my group project I would love to research and talk to the class about net neutrality because I think this is an interesting topic that might be passed by our government without many of us knowing what it means. The thought of us having to pay for something that is free to us right now is just bonkers, and it might happen just because we are not aware. I watched John Oliver who did a piece on it and was the only way that I heard about it if not for him then I also wouldn’t know anything about it. I still have to get more information on this topic because even though John Oliver is the best I watched it a while back and I want to research more on the topic. A pretty interesting guy.

Shadrach White came to talk to us on Wednesday and him talking about starting business was very interesting. He started because he was at the right place at the right time and because of this he ended up making his own business that is growing. Shadrach’s business reminded me of govworks because it has to deal with government, but that’s only because we just watched it and because they both are trying to make government work easier. Having the ability to start a company with free servers was probably the most interesting thing he mentioned since it means that creating your company before was way harder because you would need that extra money so you could just start it. He also talked about how they recreate the programs they used to cut down cost, and that is very smart since you will always want to be competitive with your pricing.
